I grew up in a rural area just south of Milan, Illinois, and graduated as valedictorian from Rockridge High School, where I was also a competitive cross country and track athlete. I went on to attend Indiana University in Bloomington, earning All-American honors in cross country while completing my bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. I also earned a certificate from the Liberal Arts and Management Program through the Kelley School of Business.
During my second year at Indiana University, I discovered my passion for dentistry and decided to pursue it as a career. I later earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, Illinois, in 2009.
While at Indiana University, I met my husband, David, who also majored in biology and has been a high school biology teacher in the Quad Cities area ever since. We married in 2007 and have three wonderful children—Hannah, born in 2011; Natalie, born in 2013; and Grant, who completed our family in 2017.
Dr. Craig Peterson grew up in Milan, IL just outside of the Quad Cities. Beginning in high school, he excelled in science and went on to major in Biology at Augustana College. Craig graduated Salutatorian from Rockridge High School in 2005 and Suma Cum Laude from Augustana College in 2009. He then attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. It was during this time that he met his wife, Lauren. They were married in July of 2011.
After graduating dental school in 2012, the Petersons moved to Racine, WI where Craig worked as a dentist at a community health center. There he had an incredible opportunity to serve patients from all walks of life and provide a wide variety of dental procedures. Lauren has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Social Work and is a licensed therapist in the state of Illinois. She enjoys country living, travel hacking and serving in the children’s ministry.
Dr. Jackie grew up in Palatine, IL, and in Cedar Rapids, IA. At a young age, she became an avid runner and swimmer. In high school, she enjoyed the health sciences and felt a calling to the medical field. It didn’t take her long to narrow it down to two potential career choices: veterinarian or dentist.
After extensive deliberation, Dr. Jackie decided dentistry would be the route for her. She found after shadowing numerous dental offices in high school that this allowed her to not only relieve people of pain, give back to her community, and work with her hands, but also form those connections with patients that she values and cannot wait to continue to form more connections.
Following high school graduation in 2013, Dr. Jackie went to Luther College to study pre-dental as well as to swim for the team. After a successful career in swimming, a Biology and Liberal Arts degree with a Chemistry minor, she graduated from Luther in 2017 and moved to Iowa City to follow her dreams of becoming a dentist.
Dr. Foster grew up just outside of Rochelle, Illinois, and graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 2006. Throughout high school she stayed active in cross country, track, choir, and vocal jazz, while also working part-time. She continued her education at Northern Illinois University, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees before completing her doctorate in 2017.
From a young age, she knew she wanted to become a dentist—even before she had ever met one. That early interest grew into a lifelong passion for helping others achieve healthy, confident smiles. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her son, Elijah, who was born in 2009.
I grew up in East Moline, Illinois, but spent fourth through sixth grades living in Worms, Germany. I graduated from Alleman High School in Rock Island in 1979, then attended Augustana College before earning my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1986.
I first learned about Cornerstone through my father-in-law, who heard from Dr. Peterson’s father that the practice was seeking a new dentist. I reached out to Dr. Peterson—and the rest is history.
I met my wife, Kim, during my senior year of high school. She is now a retired school nurse, and together we have five children and seven grandchildren. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my family, biking, hiking, and traveling. I also like to play pickleball and spend time woodworking in my free time.
I grew up in Austin, Texas, where I attended high school and developed early interests in both programming and dentistry. I graduated in 2017 and went on to earn my undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2020, followed by my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2024. I then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the University of Oklahoma in 2025.
I have always been drawn to healthcare, and dentistry stood out because it allows me to build lasting relationships with patients and colleagues while working hands-on to improve oral health.
During my residency, I came across a recruiting post for Cornerstone and decided to reach out. After visiting the offices and meeting the team, I was immediately impressed by the culture, kindness, and support within the practice. It’s been an incredible place to continue learning, refine my skills, and make a positive impact in the community.
I come from a close-knit family that includes my parents, who still live in Austin, and my older brother, who lives in Philadelphia and also works in healthcare. He’s nine years older than I am and has always been a great mentor and role model.
Dr. Mindy is passionate about business ownership and dentistry and uses her platform as a dentist to educate and make a difference in her patients and the community. She often goes to schools and even presents to other medical providers about her special topics of interest. Dr. Mindy loves to connect with her patients and employees. She is proficient at placing esthetic crowns, and fillings, removing teeth, treating children, and releasing and treating lip and tongue-ties. She views her local community as her mission field and is always looking for opportunities to serve those in need, taking action to fulfill needs that would otherwise go unmet.
Dr. Mindy has enjoyed owning dental practices with her brother and creating a family atmosphere amongst all employees. She prides herself in making both her practice and her family top priorities in her life and encourages the same for all team members. When Dr. Mindy has time for herself, she loves to run and has completed five marathons. She also enjoys mentoring other dentists and being involved with her children’s education. Dr. Mindy promotes reading and education however possible- at times even exchanging book suggestions with her patients! She is also a huge supporter of children and young adults looking into the field of dentistry and encourages interest in the field she, herself, is so passionate about!
As the founder of Cornerstone Family Dentistry, Dr. Mindy has spent years focusing on the core values that define her personally and professionally. She incorporates the Golden Rule into her leadership and treatment of patients. She believes that the way we treat others is put into action every day in all our relationships, and is the way we can make the most positive impact for others!
In October of 2014, Craig and Lauren welcomed their first child, Eliana Rae Peterson. The following year, they moved back to the Quad Cities to partner with his sister, Dr. Mindy, and planted roots in the QC community. In 2019 the Petersons were blessed with adopting their son Cael Adam Matthew Peterson. Again, the very next year, in 2020 they had the surprise blessing of adopting their youngest daughter Virginia Irene Rose Peterson.
Alongside quality time with family, Craig enjoys running, hunting, and traveling with his family. Craig and Lauren are active in their church community and passionate about working with underserved populations, including many medical mission trips.
Dr. Peterson is proficient in and enjoys all aspects of dentistry. He excels in the placement of dental implants, dentures, and extractions. Dr. Peterson has loved owning Cornerstone along with his sister, Dr. Mindy. They have some simple but deep core values that have come to define Cornerstone Family Dentistry. Of these, Dr. Peterson’s favorite core value is the Golden Rule which is to treat others the way you would want to be treated because it can completely shift how you interact with or treat patients and other co-workers.
Dr. Peterson looks forward to serving the community and meeting you!
Dr.Jackie graduated in the spring class of 2021 with the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She soon married her best friend, Stephen, and quickly joined the Cornerstone Family Dentistry team as an associate dentist where she has continued her career in dentistry. Since that time Jackie and Stephen adopted their nephew, Holdyn, and have expanded their family by a few animals too! They stay busy during family time with their two Australian shepherds, six cats, a turtle, and several chickens! Most recently Stephen has joined the private practice sector as a chiropractor treating patients in his own office, Aligned Wellness, in North Liberty, IA.
Dr. Jackie is a respected member of the clinical team at Cornerstone Family Dentistry with a focus on general dentistry and frenectomies and loves seeing patients of all ages. You will quickly sense her dedication to your care and her commitment to make sure things are “just right” for each and every one of her patients. She is passionate about our local communities as well as fostering relationships with her future patients alongside Dr. Peterson, Dr. Mindy, and Dr. Monica. She cannot wait to meet you and help make your dental experience the best possible!
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two adult children, and our dogs, Dutch and Dice. We love traveling across the country in our camper, exploring new places and visiting national parks.
My favorite Cornerstone core value is Family First. I appreciate the way the practice encourages a healthy balance between caring for patients and cherishing time with loved ones.
My favorite core value is Family First. I can attest first-hand to their Family First core value. We’ve dealth with family medical issues along with long hospital stays and unanswered issues. Cornerstone has been super supportive and understanding when I need to be away to help advocate.
I grew up in Erie, IL and attended Erie High School. I was involved in a variety of academic groups, sports and cheerleading. My love of sport and physical activity translated to my chosen area of study in college. In addition, immediately following high school I became a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and eventually a Strength and Conditioning Specialist for a variety of recreational, collegiate and Olympic athlete populations. Fitness and training continues to be a big part of my own life, and I still do some consulting work in the fitness/wellness field today!
I attended Illinois State University for my B.S. and M.S. degrees, earning my Masters in Kinesiology/Exercise Physiology. Following my Master’s degree I did a post-graduate fellowship in a biomechanics lab in Vail, CO and worked for an orthopedic surgeon in Breckenridge, CO. After moving back to the midwest, I attended the University of Iowa, earning a PhD in Health and Human Physiology (2010) with a research focus on physical activity and bone health. I have spent the last 25 years in education and research, with the majority of my career spent as a professor of exercise science.
I learned about Cornerstone from a friend who felt my background and skills would be a good fit for a new administrative role Cornerstone had developed. After learning about the values, positive business model and the caring nature of the owners and team, I knew I wanted to be part of the Cornerstone team, joining in 2025. Because of my educational background and passion for helping others achieve positive health and wellness outcomes, taking on a role in a clinical health field has been a natural transition. While I have a great deal to learn about dentistry specifically, it has been an interesting and fun challenge!
I live in Illinois with my husband, Brandon, and son, Colton (2016). We enjoy family movie nights, the outdoors, sports/hiking and an occasional Whitey’s ice cream run. We also love sharing a meal or sitting around a bonfire with friends and family.
My favorite Cornerstone Core Value is the Golden Rule because it is aligned with my Christian faith and Jesus’ second greatest command – to love your neighbor as yourself!
My favorite Cornerstone core value is Family First. I like this core value best because it reflects how I was raised and how I have always felt. I think some companies prefer to be the top priority, but that wouldn’t be realistic in my world.
My interest in dentistry began in childhood. I always looked forward to visiting the dentist, and sometimes even reminded my Mom it was time to schedule our next appointments. Joining the Cornerstone team in March 2019, with no prior clinical background, I quickly discovered I have a strong interest and enthusiasm for all things Dentistry. Each day at Cornerstone brings a new opportunity to learn something new and make a positive difference in someone’s life.
My husband, Steve, and I have been married since 2018 and share two sons named Isaac, born in 2017, and Levi, born in 2023. We also have a Yellow Labrador Retriever named Tank.
All of Cornerstone’s Core Value aligns with my ethics and beliefs, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Family First. I’ve never been part of a team that shows such genuine support for both myself and my family. This type of unmatched commitm
I was born and raised in Davenport, IA, and come from a family of four. While I don’t have kids of my own yet, my two energetic Boston Terriers keep life very entertaining and busy! Growing up I played basketball and softball and I still enjoy staying active through running, weightlifting, hiking, and playing pickleball.
My interest in dentistry began when I got braces as a kid—I loved seeing the transformation in my smile and the confidence it gave me. That experience stuck with me and inspired me to help others feel the same way. As a hygienist, my goal is to make every patient feel comfortable, heard, and cared for. I strive to create a positive experience where patients not only feel confident in their smile, but also supported in their overall oral health journey.
After earning my Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2025, I joined the Cornerstone team because of their welcoming atmosphere and shared commitment to patient care. My favorite Cornerstone core value is Willing to “Wash the Dishes” because it represents true teamwork – one where no task is beneath anyone and everyone is ready to step in, help out, and support each other no matter what. It creates a very motivating, uplifting, and inspiring team that I am proud to be part of.
Family First is my favorite core value. Being able to put your family first is amazing and knowing that I’m able to put them as a priority and be able to partake in school functions or important life opportunities means so much to me!
Family first is my favorite Cornerstone core value. I feel like it allows me to come to work and perform at my best.
I grew up in the Davenport/Bettendorf area. I’ve always loved the sense of community here. It’s been so nice to come full circle and be back in the place that feels most like home.
